Recently Facebook has rolled out a tool to help you bulk delete those old embarrassing posts. In a new tool called Manage Activity, Facebook will let you delete multiple old Facebook posts from your timeline at once. The bulk deleting tool lets you also filter content by type and date for a streamline experience.
So how do you mass delete old posts on Facebook?
Here’s how to bulk delete old Facebook Posts
Open the Facebook app on your iPhone or Android phone
Tap on your profile photo on the Facebook home screen located on the top left corner to go to your profile page
On your profile page, select “Activity Log” to be taken on the Activity log page
Click on “Manage Activity” button at the top and select “Your Posts”
Under the “Manage Your Posts” page, you can now select multiple old posts and choose to “archive” or “Trash” them. Utilize the filters button to sort your posts by category, date, or people.
To delete all your Facebook posts at once, choose the checkbox at the top, but below the Trash, Archive and Filter buttons – but not all of them.(Facebook will only delete posts that are visible i.e. as far as you can scroll)
N/B: Facebook posts in the trash bin will stay there for 30days before they’re permanently deleted. But you can still manually delete them permanently.
How to Permanently Deleting Old Facebook Posts
Deleted content will be thrashed 30 days before it can be permanently deleted. But you can delete the trashed posts permanently. Just go to the trash and click the three dot and choose the permanent delete option.
How to Recover Deleted Facebook Posts
In case you change your mind before the 30 days are over(given you didn’t go to the trash to permanently delete them instantly), just go to the trash button to recover the posts.
To recover trashed posts; Got to “Trash” at the top, then tap on the three-dot button menu to view the entry, and choose the restore option.
