Social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook provide a way to interact with people from around the world easily. Just like in real life, not everyone on the internet will like you. Or at times, someone may say something mean, and you decide to hide their reply. Here’s how you can conceal such replies to your posts on Twitter.
How to hide tweet replies
You, as a tweet author, have the power to hide or unhide replies on Twitter at any given time. Here’s how you can do that;
Step 1. From a reply to one of your Tweets, click or tap the more options icon.
Step 2. Select Hide reply
Step 3. Confirm by tapping Hide Reply on the next page.
Step 4. If you decide to hide a reply, Twitter may also ask you if you wish to block the person.
Step 5. You’ll see a “Reply hidden from tweet” once done.
Hidden replies can be viewed by tapping or clicking the hidden reply icon in the bottom-right of the original Tweet.
How to unhide a Tweet Reply
Step 1. Click or tap the hidden reply icon
Step 2. Click or tap the sort of downward-facing arrow on the right-hand side of the tweet
Step 3. Select Unhide reply from the popup
This method of unhiding replies won’t apply to every hidden tweet, however. If you hide a reply from a protected account, it will not be available within the hidden replies page. Plus of course, if the tweet author deletes the replies. Additionally, if you hide a reply and the account holder mutes or blocks you, you won’t be able to view or unhide the reply.
Under the three circumstances, the hidden replies won’t be available within the hidden reply page.
