Every day, we receive lots of emails at different times. Not all emails in Gmail will come at our most convenient time. If it’s an important one you’d wish to act on it at the moment of arrival, but you can’t. And you don’t want to risk forgetting about it.
So what do you do? Snooze the email until later. Gmail’s snooze feature allows you to postpone emails. Snooze temporarily removes an email from your inbox until later when you need it. With Gmail, you can snooze an email until some time later whether it’s tomorrow, next week, a later time the same day, next month, and so on. In this guide, we will show you how you can snooze an email in Gmail.
This how-to guide covers how to snooze an email in Gmail both in the Gmail app, and in the browser on Mac and Windows.
Step 3. Hover over the email you wish to snooze for later. You will be presented with a couple of icons(Archive, delete, mark as unread and snooze(clock icon)) in a row on the right-hand side of the email.
Step 4. Click on the clock icon to snooze the email.
Step 5. Pick a convenient time you wish to receive the email. You can snooze an email in Gmail until later today, tomorrow, next week, and so on. But there’s an option to customize the time and date as well.
Step 6. If you go the custom route, Gmail will show you a mini-calendar that you can pick the date and time easily.
Step 7. Once done, tap Save.
You can also snooze an email by selecting the checkbox on the left-hand side of the email. You’ll see a row of icons on top of the email labels. Tap on the clock-like icon to snooze the email.

How to Snooze an email in Gmail App
Step 1. Open the Gmail app on your Android phone, tablet, or iPhone
Step 2. Open an email you want to snooze
Step 3. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the screen to open more options.
Step 4. Select “Snooze”
Step 5. Select the convenient time you wish to receive the email.
If you don’t wish to open the email first, you don’t have to. Simply select the email by tapping and holding then click the three-dot menu at the top right and tap Snooze. Then select the convenient time that best suits you.
How to find Snoozed Emails in Gmail
Now that you know how to snooze an email in Gmail, where can you find snoozed emails? Because you might want to revert the action or change the time and date that Gmail should notify you about the email.
In your browser, open Gmail
Click on the clock-like Snooze icon labeled “Snoozed” on the left-hand size of Gmail.

How to Un-Snooze an Email
If you want to entirely unsooze an email;
Go to the Snoozed folder
Hover over the email you want to unsooze. You’ll see a row of icons on the right-hand size
Tap on the Snooze icon
Select Unsnooze from the snooze menu
You can unsooze more than one email at a time, by selecting the emails then tapping on the Snooze icon from the top row.
What happens when you snooze a sent email?
Snoozing an email is the same as snoozing an alarm. You postpone the time you wish your alarm to go off. In Gmail, when you snooze an email, you will be allowed to select the time you wish to be notified about the email later. As mentioned above, you can snooze an email in Gmail until a specified time. It could be an hour later, some time tomorrow, next week, next month and so on.
