After launching its first ever TV a year ago marking its entry into the TV industry, Chinese tech company OnePlus has announced new models today. The new models are all in the company’s U-series and Y-series. The models include 55U1, 43Y1, and 32Y1. As the naming scheme suggests, OnePlus’s new TV models have three different sizes: 55-, 43- and 32-inches.
The 55-inch U-series model is at the top of the line with a 4K LCD display, HDR support (Dolby Vision and HDR10+), has slim bezels(95% screen to body ratio), and has an inbuilt 30W four speaker system that supports Dolby Atmos audio output.
Under the hood is Android TV OS(version 9), built-in Chromecast with Miracast and DLNA, support for hands-free control thanks to Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
Moving to the 43-inch and 32-inch Y-series models, the two still have LCD panels but the resolution is taken a notch down.
The 43-inch model has FHD+ LCD panel, while the 32-inch version has a mere 1366×768 resolution LCD panel. Admittedly, for price reasons, the speaker system is also not as powerful as found in the 55-inch model. There is a 20W speaker system on the two.
But in terms of design, the aesthetics are kept uniform across the three. So, yeah, the 43-, and 32-inch models still have slim bezels.
Notably, they’re also smart TVs and come pre-installed with Netflix and Prime Video. Chromecast is also built-in.
OnePlus TV Price
The most expensive of the bunch is, of course, the OnePlus 55U1 TV which will retail at INR 49,999 (about $670). Followed by the OnePlus 43Y1 priced at INR 22,999 ($310) and lastly the OnePlus 32Y1 at INR 12,999 ($175).
